Notes:

From the mouth of a roaring lion a three-headed dragon (a hydra?) issues forth. The globe of the world, a crown and a sceptre are there for the taking.

The league here is probably the Ligue Catholique or Sante Ligue. The print may be by Jacques de Fornazeris, but was published anonymously in 1594 under the name Mme Ch.— (Madamoiselle Ch.—).

This is one of three such prints reproduced in the book here, in an article De l’action de la caricature that appears to be about political art opposing the protestant king Henri IV of France.

I removed the caption from this image; it was originally above the creatures inside the box, which i reduced accordingly.
