Taufers, in Taufers, Tyrol, Italy more
Taufers is first mentioned in the year 1080, but not until the yeat 1149 does the family seem to have risen to any importance; but from then, until it does out in 1312, it was one of the most influential in that part of the Tyrol.
As I am not a landscape-painter, I have confined my description and sketches to that which had the most interest for me, and which I can say, without exaggeration, is a rteasure-trove for genre and historical painters, viz., Schloss-Taufers. (p. 464)
The article and engraving are signed by C. Weeks, a popular Victorian painter at the time. I have not found dates for her.
