The front cover features ornate gilt lettering and a picture of some flowers. The binding is green cloth.
[$]Ths vignetted initial letter “L” was used as a drop cap, or decorative initial at the start of the section on the cowslip. The L is in an ornate Victorian style with a diamond pattern on parts of the upright, and the drawing of the cowslip plant includes flowers, leaves and root.
