A red and blue calligraphic decorative letter “D” from a 14th century manuscript, reproduced in this 1860 book. The squiggles would have gone into the left margin. I’ve made fewer sizes than usual because if you want to use this on a Web page you will probably end up splitting it (slicing it) into several smaller images yourself, to work around the pathetic inability of CSS to position images properly.
