A. Schram: Theerosen.
We see a young woman with hair in a bun, wearing a low-cut dress and holding yellow and red roses close to her chest, her mouth pursed trying to smile despite the sharpness of the thorns, perhaps. Behind her, a green curtain, which she draws closed with one hand, perhaps suggesting at more intimate times to follow.
I stand, enveloped by spring’s magic, dreaming still;
The heart’s sweet secret yearns to wrest from me.
In the pale rose’s chalice, the red flame glows;
A burning longing for happiness silently resounds and blossoms within it.
So I, too, give space to the flame of longing within me,
It shines forth to you from my rose’s dream.

Or, in the german original:
Ich steh’ von Frühlingszauber
Umsponnen trämend still;
Des Herzens süss Geheimmis
Sigh mir entringen will.
Im Kelch der blassen Rose
Die rote Flamme glüht;
Ein heisses Glückverlangen
Still in ihr klingt und blüht.
So geb’ auch ich der Flamme
Der Sehnsucht in mir Raum,
Sie leuchtet Dir entgegen
Aus meiner Rosen Traum
