Another picture by Meryon with crows in it, and gothic architecture, and also use of surface tone (background not completely white) to add atmosphere, even though this was atypical of the artist in general.
We see tall stone coluumns surmounted by pointed arches pierced by trefoil or clover cavities, a crow flying between two pillars clearly showing there is no glass.
