D. XXXX XVII The title page and the front of the dust jacket are the same, so I scanned the front of the dust jacket. The actual proverbs are taken from Nathan Bailey’s Universal Etymological Dictionary as far as I can tell; my copy of that dictionary is the second edition from 1726.
