A man and a woman stand together in a bedroom; one kisses the cheek of the other. They are dressed in medieval costume. Although Troilus and Criseyde is set in ancient Greece, Chaucer was writing in the 14th century, and William Morris and Edward Burne-Jones have illustrated it in the style of that time. Images from page 501: the outer decorative page border, the inner leafy border, and two wallpaper images, the picture of the lovers with the border, and the lovers without the border. There is also the William Morris decorative initial letter L. |
