Modern Roman Type; C. R. Ashbee.

Charles Robert Ashbee founded the Essex House Press in 1898; it lasted untill 1910. Ashbee designed “Endeavour” and “Prayer Book,” of which I think the first is shown here. He also designed decorative inital letters, presumably including the ten-line drop cap “W” shown here.
