Initial letter “C” from a historiated alphabet by Valerio Spada. Seventeeth century Italian people: a man stands with a falcon on one arm, and a dog at his feet; he talks to a man on a horse. No doubt it is a hunting scene. A surrounding circular frame has fleurs-de-lys in the corners.
