Image title: 422.—Goodrich Castle
Source: Knight, Charles: “Old England: A Pictorial Museum” (1845)
Place shown: Goodrich, Herefordshire, England
Keywords: ruins, castles, entrances, trees, greyscale
Status: public domain in the USA, out of copyright in Canada, hence royalty-free stock image for all purposes and no usage credit required

Notes:

Goodrich stands in the Wye Valley (see History of Wales), and has a 12th century central keep about 8 metres (25’) on a side. It’s actually in much better condition than this romantic engraving might lead one to think!

The BBC panoramic view of Goodrich Castle gives a good feel for the spectacular view from the castle.
The site is now owned and made open to the public by English Heritage although their Web site is really bad, unfortunately, so I can’t link directly to the page.
