Richard Bong was born in Berlin, and is best known today for his woodcut prints and for publishing the magazine “Moderne Kunst,” featuring engravings of popular painting of the day.

He founded his publishing house in 1891 [1], and wrote books on Shakespeare, Wagner, and others.
