Albert von Keller was a German classical painter born in Gais, in Switzerland. His parents and family moved to Bavaria (Germany) when he was three, and, eventually, to Munich, where he stayed.

He started out studying law, but later switched to art. Good move.
He studied under Ramberg and Lenbach in Munich, becoming a professer at the Munich Academy in 1886.
He exhibited in Paris in 1889 and 1900, and was known in indoor scenes and portraits, preferring female subjects
