King Edward I (“Longshanks”) of England lived from 1239 – 1307. He was crowned in 1272 but was away on Crusade and did not rule until 1274.
He is shown here riding a horse and wearing a full suit of armour (probably chain mail) and a crown, and carrying a sword and the shield of England bearing three lions.
