This is only a baby cherub, with tiny wings not-yet grown, a little Cupid or Eros. he sits naked on the ground and gestures in front of him with his left hand.

This was part of the masthead for the monthly German art magazine Moderne Kunst, and originally the issue number was printed just in front of this little winged boy.

Note: he’s perfectly safe for work (SFW), despite not having any clothes :-) and he has a lovely smile.

The piece from which he was taken is signed by Heinrich Riffarth, a German printmaker, engraver, maker of photogravure, and entomologist!
