Ernst Otto Ewald Thiel (1855 – 1939).

Ewald Thiel was born in Kamenten, Darkehmen County in East Prussia in 1855. He studied with Paul Thumann at the Prissian Academy of Fine Arts in Berlin, and then at the Royal Academy of Arts in Munich with Ludwig von Löfftz.
