Eugen Klimsch was born in Frankfurt am Main in Germany, into an artistic family. As a boy, his father gave him private tuition and encouragement. Later, he went to the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. He joined the impressionists, and, later, post-impressionists. He was especially known for painting portraits.
