Harry Jochmus (1855 – 1915).

Harry Jochmus was a German artist, born in Harburg. He died in Lüneburg in 1915. From 1875 to 1885 he studied in Düsseldorf at the Royal Prussian Art Academy in the studio of Wilhelm Sohn. He was admitted to the Düsseldorf artists’ association Malkasten (which is, paintbox).

Like many artsts at the time he travelled for a while in the Netherlands, France, Italy. He settled in Munich, where he often exhibited at the Glass Palace (Glaspalat.

He appears to have made genre paintings for the most part, that is, with people set in scenes from life.
