Reinhold Max Eichler, a German painter, was born in Hubertusburg, Mutzschen, Saxony. His father was a farmer, but Reinhold went to art school: he studied at the Dresden Art Academy and then at the Munich Academy of Fine Arts (under Paul Hoecker). He made illustrations for Jugend and Dimplicissimus, working exclusively for Jugend from 1903.
He died in Munich in 1947, just a couple of years after the War. One of his paintings sold for $37,000 in New York in 2007.
