Hugh Perry.

An English perversion of “Euperʹion,” a predecessor of lucifer matches invented by Heurtner, who opened a shop in the Strand, and advertised his invention thus—

“To save your knuckles time and trouble,

Use Heurter’s Euperʹion.”
