Triumph.

A word formed from thriambos, the Dionysiac hymn.

“Some … have assigned the origin of … triumphal processions to the mythic pomps of Dionysus, after his conquests in the East, the very word triumph being … the Dionysiac hymn.”—Pater: Marius the Epiourean, chap. xii.
