Image description for Charles-Quint Triomphant

[the image described here]

This charcoal drawing shows, in great detail, a bronze status of a bearded man, the Emperor Carlos, standing wearing armour and holding a spear. He is bare-headed. Another man, naked, sits on the ground, one bare foot dangling off the pedestal for the statue, a metal chain running from a leg-iron or cuff around that dangling ankle around the pedastal to a loop in the “ground” and thence to the collar round the naked man’s nek, and on to manacles round his wrists.
