Hanover.

.—From the year 1740 ro 1756 it was a place not to be found in the map, a poor, pitiful electorate; but being the patrimonial territory and the electoral dominions of our Most Serene Sovereign, must be preserved as a mill-stone about the neck of England, the ruin of our treasury, and the grave of Britons. Thus happy we are in our Germon connections.
