This engraving or woodcut of the Cook Street gate in Coventry shows a tall stone building, with a person standing in front to give a sense of scale. The archway that goes through the building is maybe fifteen feet wide and twenty feet high, and the building appears to be at least twenty feet high in all, with battlements at the top. Either side of the stone archway there’s a heavy buttress, and over the arch a rectangular window. It looks a vit like an entrance into a castle, which in a way is what it was.
