John Dissett was a sea captain who lived in Buffalo New York and was a distant relative of mine. I believe his father Thomas, a shipbuilder, emigrated from County Kerry, Ireland to Prescott, Ontario in the 1820’s. I can’t be sure this is the same man whose name is stamped in your book, but it would make sense.
