Title page from “The Leisure Hour”—this was a monthly magazine, and this book is all of the issues for the year 1896, bound together. The engraving is signed J.H. Hipsley.

Just to let you know some further information about the ‘possible missing page’ mentioned with this image. I have this 1896 book in original condition, and the only page preceding the one shown is a sheet of thin protective tissue paper which is blank. It looks like the book this image was taken from has had the tissue paper page ripped out. Before the tissue page, there is only an inside cover and facing page covered in a green and cream William Morris pattern.
