Monumental architecture. XXXIV.—Monument in the Cemetary of Père Lachaise, Paris.
Albert Bartholomé, sculptor.

A stone entranceway is marked Aux Morts, which is, To Death; we see a naked man and a naked woman who have passed through the doorway. Outside it, others, naked and partly naked, move towards death, while others weep. Beneath is a naked woman with her arms outstretched, crouching above a prone nude figure.
