Thor [Ðor (Saxon)]
they represent him as a King, the Laplanders represent him by the Stump of a Tree, and offer Sacrifice to him, which Sacrifice is usually a Rain-Deer. From him Thursday takes its Name, q.d. Thor’s-day.
