The book does not discuss Denbigh Castle at all as far as I can tell. The castle was started in the 1280s by Edward I; like so many castles in Britain it was demolished as part of the English Civil War, in this case after a four-month siege ending in 1646. It had been loyal to the Crown. |

This is a beautiful site. I’ve bookmarked it and will visit often.
My father got a copy of something called “The World and Its People” by Professor Charles F. Horne, MS, PhD of the College of the City of New York. Published in 1924 and 1925. There are fantastic plates in there, similar to the ones here.
There is something poignant about the older plates. The castles especially. The wildlife surrounding it and taking it over. We are blessed that your fathers decided it was important to restore them and preserve them.
Anyway, thank you for all your hard work!
